The sounds of boat motors, birds calls, and children's laughter fills the air this Sat morning, July 1st here on Long Lake.  It is the beginning of the "July 4th extended weekend / holiday!  We begin the 2017-18 Fund Drive for Our Long Lake Area Association Foundation today.  We have two generous donors who are leading the way today already!  As we mentioned in the LLAA Annual Meeting last Saturday, we are raising funds for watercraft inspection / education, for a rapid response fund if aquatic invasive species occurs plus continuing to protect, preserve, and enhance the quality of Long Lake and its environs, as the LLAA Foundation purpose states.   We are at $2,000 and building strong towards our goal of $20,000.

Happy Thanksgiving to Long Lake

As of 11/23/16, contributions are at $19,545 for the current fund drive which runs from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017.  The donor list for the current fund drive will be updated by the end of November where the donor gave permission to list them on our website.

The many generous donors have provided a Happy Thanksgiving to Long Lake!

If your relatives exchange Christmas gifts among themselves, what about having people request that their gift be a check to the LLAA Foundation?  What could be better than a gift to help keep our lake free from invasive species.

For the Christmas gift, request that the donor mail a check to the LLAA Foundation, PO Box 808, Park Rapids MN 56470, and  include  in the check memo “ (Your Family) Xmas Gift. "  All of (Your Family ) Xmas gifts will be combined, based on the check memo notations.  The total of (Your Family) Xmas gifts will be recognized on the Foundation website.  Each contributor will receive a receipt for their tax deductible gift as allowed by law.

Your Xmas gifts will help contribute to 2016-2017 LLAA Foundation Fund Drive for the watercraft inspections, education, and a rapid response fund.

Good Reason To Cheer!

We are hearing the sounds of the Winter greetings around our Long Lake that is frozen over about three-fourths of the way now.  Folks are keeping a watch on the webcam to see the swans swimming about in the deep part of the lake and wondering when the ice will totally freeze.  There are a few fish houses near the south access.  Generosity continues as the New Year approaches!  The Long Lake Area Association Foundation has raised a total of $23,610 for the fund drive which started July 1, 2015 and ends June 30, 2016.  To Every Heart, Gratitude, Joy, Light, and Peace!
